Ran a timed dry cycle at high temperature setting, placed a thermo couple to the units rear vent, allowed the unit to cycle a few times, the unit cycled normal at 160F- 115F. "Upon arrival found unit no producing ice, check the freezer compartment and found the filling tube is bent down, causing the water no going into the ice maker, filling tube was send the water to the freezer compartment. Adjust the ice maker and the filling tube. Retest the ice maker and now the water is going into the ice maker. Job complete"

Resident is concerned with metal on metal sound when cycle is started and stops and when vent fan is turned on or off. Sound is coming from vent flap in building venting at top of microwave. When the magnetron comes on the fan motor starts which blows the metal flap open. When the blower turns off the flap falls from gravity. The sound is the metal flap opening and closing. There is no repair to stop sound as this is normal operation for this venting setup. Every house venting is different and can cause different levels of sound. If the unit was to not make the sound I would suspect the flap being stuck in vent which would cause issues for long cook cycles. Microwave is installed correctly. All tests good.
